Corrections are good, they keep us all humble.

– Catherine 'Cathie' Wood

Today's Oracle Bio:

After achieving earlier success in her investing career, Catherine 'Cathie' Wood founded ARK Investment Management in 2014 to focus solely on what she calls disruptive innovation. She targets companies leading trends such as DNA sequencing, robotics, and 3D printing.

Wood is a devout Christian who named her company after the Ark of the Covenant, the chest that held the Ten Commandments.

Ark managed as much as $60 billion in assets at its peak. Wood's net worth was reportedly $250 million to $300 million as of mid-2024.

Book Highlight:

There isn't a single book by Wood or about her. She did, however, contribute a chapter to Faith Driven Investing: Every Investment Has an Impact—What’s Yours? The volume encourages Christians to see their investments 'from God’s perspective' and learn to 'steward their investments for His kingdom.'

Thought of the Day:

I agree with Wood's sentiment here, although I continue to search for a less costly way of learning humility.
